College Phi Theta Kappa Chapter Awarded Most Distinguished Chapter

College Phi Theta Kappa Chapter Awarded Most Distinguished Chapter

The Phi Theta Kappa Chapter of Cañada College, Beta Zeta Nu, was awarded the Most Distinguished Chapter in the Nevada/California region for the second year in a row. The students would like to thank the groups/individuals who helped to make the chapter so successful. Additionally, we’d like to answer three of the most commonly asked questions about the Most Distinguished Chapter award.

The three most commonly asked questions are:

1) Who and what determines a chapter’s ranking?

Answer: Simply stated, think of each chapter as being able to earn a total of 100 points for their efforts in two areas. A set of readers at PTK headquarters grades the chapter’s documentation of those efforts. The score determines the chapter’s rank

2) What are the two areas that determine the ranking?

Answer: The two areas that comprise a chapter’s overall score are the Honors In Action (HIA) Research Project and the chapter’s College Project.

3) What topics did the chapter’s projects examine this year?

Answer: The HIA project researched Free Speech while the College Project helped to facilitate a Women In Technology/curriculum discussion.

Finally, the chapter would like to publicly thank all the groups and individuals that lent their time, talent, energy, and finances to one or both of the projects.
