Beyond Bars and Border Walls: The Hidden History of Detention & Deportation in America

In this talk, Professor Alison Field will share some of her research on the history of detention and deportation. Since the 1980’s, race, fear and punitive laws have compounded to unjustly criminalize immigrants, exacerbate human rights violations, and grow an immigration industrial complex.
