CAMPUS CLOSED TOMORROW FOR FLEX DAY
Wednesday, October 12, is Flex Day and there are no classes. All Cañada offices and services will be closed for the day. We look forward to seeing you when campus reopens on Thursday, October 13!
MASKING RECOMMENDED BUT NOT REQUIRED
San Mateo County’s current Community Level is LOW, and face masks are strongly recommended but not required while indoors at any SMCCCD facility except those designated as healthcare facilities. As the San Mateo County Community Level changes, updated information will be provided to students, employees, and visitors. Masks are located at various locations throughout all buildings. To track the San Mateo County’s COVID Community Level, visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website.
DEADLINE TO APPLY FOR FALL 2022 GRADUATION EXTENDED TO NOV. 4
The deadline for students to apply for their Fall 2022 Degree and Certificate is now Friday, November 4, 2022. Counseling appointments are available for students to get assistance in submitting their application. Please schedule an appointment through the Student Success Link portal or by contacting the Welcome Center at (650) 306-3452 or canadawelcomecenter@smccd.edu. We recommend that students make an appointment as soon as possible.

FREE WEEKLY GROCERIES BEGINS TODAY!
In partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank, Cañada College is launching a FREE Grocery Distribution on campus in Lot 6 every Tuesday between 11 a.m.-1 p.m. This event will be open to all students and the community.

UNDOCUMENTED STUDENT ACTION WEEK
Undocumented Student Action Week (USAW) is week-long series of events happening from October 17 to October 21, 2022 that aim to celebrate and provide resources for undocumented students. The events being hosted at Cañada, College of San Mateo, and Skyline are open to all students, community members, and will be a mix of virtual, hybrid, and in person. USAW is part of a statewide effort led by the California Community College Chancellor’s Office to advocate for undocumented students and create systems that will lead to their success. To celebrate Latinx Heritage month we are highlighting films and documentaries such as Latino Americans: 500 Year Legacy that Shaped a Nation from PBS and eBooks such as I am not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter.
