Expanded Student Support & Food Services Offered Until 8 p.m.

Cañada offers expanded student support and food services Monday-Thursday until 8 p.m. through Cañada de Noche (at Night). Services include expanded in-person, evening support, and walk-up options at several Student Support Services stations located throughout Buildings 5, 9, and 13. Expanded food services will also be available at the Colts Café (Building 1), and the Grove Café (Building 5) in addition to Grab & Go Fridges that will be available to students in Buildings 9 and 13. Priority Registration Begins on Wednesday, November 1

Starting this Wednesday, November 1, students who meet the criteria for priority registration can enroll in courses for the Spring 2024 Semester. Registration will be available to all students starting on Wednesday, November 15. Students can view the Spring 2024 Semester course listings on WebSchedule and meet with an academic counselor to develop their Student Education Plan (SEP) if they have not already!

 

Cañada College is a Smoke-Free Campus

Per SMCCCD Board Policy 2.27, vaping and smoking are prohibited on all SMCCCD campuses. Please do not smoke on campus, including in our buildings and restrooms.

 

Transfer Application Assistance at COLTS-U Transfer Center

The final deadlines for both the UC and CSU transfer applications for Fall 2024 admissions is on Thursday, November 30. The COLTS-U Transfer Center has scheduled extended drop-in hours for students working on applications in person in Building 9, Room 106, and virtually throughout the month of November. Undocumented Student Action Week (USAW)

Undocumented Student Action Week (USAW) is a week-long series of events happening from October 16 to October 20, 2023 that aim to celebrate and provide resources for undocumented students. The events being hosted at Cañada College, College of San Mateo, and Skyline College are open to all students, community members, and will be a mix of virtual, hybrid, and in-person. USAW is part of a statewide effort led by the California Community College Chancellor’s Office to advocate for undocumented students and create systems that will lead to their success. Friday: Cañada Town Hall with Chancellor Search Consultant

The District has hired RH Perry & Associates to support the SMCCCD Chancellor Search process. The Town Halls will be led by SMCCCD Human Resources and Paul Doeg, President & COO of RH Perry & Associates. Please attend the Cañada Town Hall this Friday, October 6 from 1-1:45 p.m. to share your thoughts on what you’d like to see in the District’s next Chancellor. Your feedback is important and will be used to develop the position announcement.

Expanded Student Support & Food Services Now Offered Until 8 p.m.

Cañada now offers expanded student support and food services Monday-Thursday until 8 p.m. through Cañada de Noche (at Night). Services include expanded in-person, evening support, and walk-up options at several Student Support Services stations located throughout Buildings 5, 9, and 13. Expanded food services will also be available at the Colts Café (Building 1), the Grove Café (Building 5) in addition to Grab & Go Fridges that will be available to students in Buildings 9 and 13.
