Apply for the Vending Commission Grant – Deadline Oct. 20, 2023!
Apply for the Vending Commission grant to receive up to $2,500 for a Cañada program or event. Applications are due before Friday, October 20, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. Apply here The Center for Student Life and Leadership Development Vending Commission Application is a once-a-year opportunity to garner money from the on-campus vending machines and provide funding for events, activities, and programs that are student-focused. In order to qualify for funding through the Vending Commission, a program, item, or activity must benefit or target a maximum number of Cañada College students.
No Classes & Cañada Student Services Offices Closed Next Wednesday, October 11
There are no classes, and all student services offices will be closed for the day next Wednesday, October 11, to allow classified employees to participate in professional development activities.
Friday: Cañada Town Hall with Chancellor Search Consultant
The District has hired RH Perry & Associates to support the SMCCCD Chancellor Search process. The Town Halls will be led by SMCCCD Human Resources and Paul Doeg, President & COO of RH Perry & Associates. Please attend the Cañada Town Hall this Friday, October 6 from 1-1:45 p.m. to share your thoughts on what you’d like to see in the District’s next Chancellor. Your feedback is important and will be used to develop the position announcement.
If you cannot attend the Town Hall meetings, please provide input by completing the Chancellor Search Feedback Form. This form is anonymous.

Expanded Student Support & Food Services Now Offered Until 8 p.m.
Cañada now offers expanded student support and food services Monday-Thursday until 8 p.m. through Cañada de Noche (at Night). Services include expanded in-person, evening support, and walk-up options at several Student Support Services stations located throughout Buildings 5, 9, and 13. Expanded food services will also be available at the Colts Café (Building 1), the Grove Café (Building 5) in addition to Grab & Go Fridges that will be available to students in Buildings 9 and 13.
