Finals Week is Here!

You've made it to finals week and we’re cheering you on! Success goes beyond hitting the books—remember to take breaks, stay balanced and keep your focus sharp. Need a quiet place to breathe and relax? The Meditation and Prayer Room (located in Building 5, Room 202) and the Reparative Room (located in Building 17, Room 109) are open to the Cañada community. Be sure to check the Final Examinations Schedule for key details, and keep in mind that final grades will be accessible on WebSMART on December 24, 2024. Good luck—you’ve got this!
 

Winter Break Closure Announcement - Food Market, Food Lockers and Distribution

Register for Spring Classes

All students can now enroll in classes for the Spring 2025 Semester starting on January 13! You can check the available classes on WebSchedule and complete your registration via WebSMART. If you haven't already, don't forget to schedule a meeting with an academic counselor to create your Student Education Plan (SEP).

FAFSA Application Now Open

The financial aid season for the 2025-26 academic year has officially begun and the free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available for eligible students to complete. For students who complete a California Dream Act Application (CADAA), the dedicated application portal opened on Sunday, December 1, 2024. Cañada Financial Aid Services looks forward to assisting students with their application process and encourages all eligible students to submit their applications as soon as possible to maximize their financial aid opportunities. The priority deadline for both FAFSA and the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) is Monday, March 3, 2025. Please contact Cañada Financial Aid Services for assistance.
 

Disability Resource Center Has Moved to Building 9

The Disability Resource Center (DRC) at Cañada College has relocated many of services to the first floor of Building 9. Here are the updated locations for DRC services:

  • Counseling Appointments: All appointments with a DRC counselor will now take place in Building 9 (Students, check your appointment confirmation email for the room, or check in with the Welcome Center)
  • Assistive Technology Loaner Program: Located on the 3rd floor of Building 9 in the Library
  • Testing Services: Still located in the Learning Center on the 2nd floor
  • Alt Media Services: Now in Building 5, 2nd floor, Room 205
  • Assistive Technology Services: Now in Building 5, 3rd floor, Room 305

For any questions about DRC appointments or assistance with scheduling, students can check in with the Welcome Center team on the first floor of Building 9. The DRC office phone number and email address remains the same: (650) 306-3259 / canadadrc@smccd.edu.
 

Colts Men Soccer Headed to State Championship!

Our Cañada College Colts Men’s Soccer Team is heading to the 3C2A State Championships! The last time the Colts qualified for the 3C2A Soccer State Championships was in 1999, under Cañada Hall of Fame coach Frank Mangiola. The Colts will play the #2 seed of the Southern California, Cuyamaca College is scheduled for December 6, 10 a.m. at American River College in Sacramento. The game will also be streamed live and available at https://baosn.tv/cccaa/.
 

Battery Recycling at Cañada Bookstore

You can now recycle old or used batteries at the Cañada Bookstore. Please bring standard alkaline batteries (ex- household batteries such as AA, AAA, C) and button batteries that are taped together for proper recycling. Lithium Ion batteries are not accepted. Look for the blue bin near the front entrance.
