The Cañada College Career Center and its remarkable staff has helped so many students over the years. They offer resources such as assistance with writing resumes and cover letters, interview practice and more. Meeting with Robert Haick, Program Supervisor, was a great experience to learn about how the Career Center can support students to find their career path or secure a job while in college.
A signature event the Career Center hosts is the Job Fair, which was held virtually, but in person job fairs may resume in the future. The Job Fair, held on October 6, hosted more than 70 employers who were looking for students who desired to gain experience in their companies. More than 100 students attended and had an opportunity to see where their skills can be valued in the workplace by joining break out rooms with the employers. Holding events, such as the Job Fair, helps students explore what they want to do during their time in community college. Robert enjoys working with students and loves seeing them reach their full potential. Employers were also excited to see how many students were eager to start their careers with their companies.
Aside from the Job Fair, another extremely important resource that’s available to all students is the Career Center’s Job Board. This tool is through the College Central Network, made for students looking for jobs as well as internships. Students who sign up with their email ensures they will receive the fastest notifications for jobs in their area of interest.
The Career Center team
works very hard to send out messages as often as they can to make sure students
have the best opportunities. Stay informed and use the best resources available
by going to the Career Center! Visit the Career Center website for more
information about services and upcoming events.
