Celebrating Black History Month

February is Black History Month and Cañada College is hosting events to honor the rich cultural heritage, remarkable achievements and lasting contributions of the Black community. Be sure to check the college calendar regularly, as new events will be added throughout the month. Additionally, Zoom backgrounds are available for download to join in the celebration.

The SMCCCD Undocumented Community Resources site offers guidance and support for undocumented students, staff and families. This hub provides information on legal and financial aid resources, campus ally programs, and community partnerships. We encourage you to explore these resources, and don’t hesitate to ask for help whenever needed.
 

Fit-for-FREE at Cañada College Athletic Center

Kickstart the new year with a heathier lifestyle at the Athletic Center! We encourage Student Select members to check-in at least 15 times in one month – if successful, your $15 dues will be refunded back to you! That’s Fit-for-FREE!  New Student Select members also receive $0 enrollment fees and two complimentary months of membership. The Disability Resource Center (DRC) at Cañada College has relocated many of services to the first floor of Building 9. Here are the updated locations for DRC services:

  • Counseling Appointments: All appointments with a DRC counselor will now take place in Building 9 (Students, check your appointment confirmation email for the room, or check in with the Welcome Center)
  • Assistive Technology Loaner Program: Located on the 3rd floor of Building 9 in the Library
  • Testing Services: Still located in the Learning Center on the 2nd floor
  • Alt Media Services: Now in Building 5, 2nd floor, Room 205
  • Assistive Technology Services: Now in Building 5, 3rd floor, Room 305

Foundation for California Community Colleges Wildfire Relief Fund

Southern California wildfires and hurricane-force winds have closed several community colleges, displacing students, faculty, and staff who are facing financial struggles. The Foundation for California Community Colleges is providing emergency assistance for housing, supplies, and other vital needs.
