Wednesday, October 7 is Flex Day

This Wednesday, October 7, is Flex Day, a day dedicated to the professional development of Cañada College employees. There are no classes, and all Cañada College offices and student services are closed for the day.
 

Register to Vote

The Tuesday, November 3, statewide general election is approaching. Vote-by-mail ballots begin arriving this week and the deadline to register or update your voter information is Monday, October 19. Visit the SMCCCD’s Register to Vote site to register, check your status and find voting resources.
 

What’s New for Study Snacks and Grab and Go Meals

  • Centralized Pickup Location: Pick up snacks and meals directly at the Cañada Food Market in Building 5, Room 220
  • New Hours: Pick up hours - Monday through Thursday from 12 – 4 p.m.
  • Plan Ahead: Pick up Meals and up to 5 snacks per visit to keep you fueled throughout the week

Great California ShakeOut Drill – October 15

Cañada College will participate in the Great California ShakeOut earthquake and evacuation drill on Thursday, October 15, from 10:45 to approximately 10:55 a.m. At 10:45 a.m., everyone on campus should Drop, Cover and Hold On for 60 seconds, then evacuate calmly along posted routes to their designated assembly area and remain there until the ALL CLEAR is issued through RAVE and the campus public announcement system.
 

Athletic Center Fall Showcase

Explore the Cañada College and College of San Mateo Athletic Centers at the SMCCCD Athletic Center Fall Showcase on Saturday, November 14, from 7 a m. - 5 p.m. The free event features fitness, aquatics, group exercise and Pilates programming. Students and employees who are not members can attend with a complimentary one-day guest pass; RSVP in advance.
 

Red Cards & Undocumented Community Resources

Wallet-sized “Red Cards” that explain how to safely assert your rights during interactions with immigration enforcement are available for pickup at the Undocumented Community Center. These cards are offered in multiple languages, including Spanish, English, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Chinese, Russian and Portuguese. These can also be printed. Visit the District’s Undocumented Community Resources  or stop by the Undocumented Community Center (Building 9, Room 118), open Monday – Thursday from 8 a.m.– 4:30 p.m.
