Cañada Students Visit Sacramento for University Visit

Cañada Students Visit Sacramento for University Visit

On March 17, 20 Cañada students and three staff members attended a university visit at beautiful Sacramento State.  The group enjoyed lunch in the Dining Commons, a campus tour and an insightful admissions presentation.  The students all agreed that the tour was their favorite part as it provided excellent insight into the programs in which they were most interested, including Criminal Justice, Nursing and Computer Science.  Sacramento State is ranked 2nd in the nation for Criminal Justice and 6th in the nation for Nursing.

The Cañada group learned that Criminal Justice faculty either currently work in, or are recently retired from, law enforcement so there are many networking opportunities for students.  In the program, Criminal Justice students gain experience with simulated crime scenes and work together to solve each crime.  Between the amazing amenities and quality, participatory education, many of the students added Sacramento State to their target/reach/safety list of transfer destinations. Thank you to the Cañada Vending Commission and the ¡ESO! grant for providing transportation and food for the trip.
