Get Involved on campus! This event is an opportunity for new and returning students to learn more information about the many student clubs we have at Cañada College. We will aim to help students get involved in activities or groups that interest them, and also will provide chances for students to get to know each other and bond over their common interests.
STEM Speaker Series: Solving Problems, Building Things, and the Art of Not Taking it All Too Seriously

The featured speaker is Nathan Carlson. Nathan was born and raised in San Mateo. From an early age he loved building things, taking things apart, and watching things fly. He was home educated up until high school when he concurrently enrolled at Cañada College. Through high school he took an increasing number of community college classes and graduated with both an AA and AS. In 2017 he transferred to Cal Poly (San Luis Obispo) and graduated in June 2020 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. In October of the same year he started working for Northrop Grumman as an Associate Manufacturing Engineer and that’s where you’ll find him today.

Get ready for Constitution Day with this two-part series. Here you’ll get to learn about the Constitution in a fun and informative way! Constitution Day will promote Cañada College’s Anti-racism values and highlight the 1619 project which aims to reframe the country’s history by placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of black Americans at the very center of our national narrative. On this day we observe Constitution Day by highlighting that no aspect of the country that would be formed here has been untouched by the years of slavery that followed.
