Celebrating Black History Month

February is Black History Month and Cañada College is hosting events to honor the rich cultural heritage, remarkable achievements and lasting contributions of the Black community. A current list of events is below and attached. Be sure to check the college calendar regularly, as new events will be added throughout the month. Additionally, Zoom backgrounds are available for download to join in the celebration.

Reminder: Districtwide Violent Intruder Drills on Tuesday, February 24

As a reminder, the SMCCCD Office of Emergency Management will conduct two coordinated Violent Intruder drills on Tuesday, February 24, at 10:45 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. across all three colleges and the District Office, reinforcing the “Hide” tactic within the District’s Run, Hide, Fight response strategy. During the drill, follow AlertMe  and PA instructions and practice securing your space; review the SMCCCD Violent Intruder Training Video in advance. Questions can be directed to Ben’Zara Minkin at (650) 574-6634.
