What's Happening at Cañada Header

Make Your Voice Heard on November 3

The statewide general election is Tuesday, November 3. San Mateo County has delivered vote-by-mail ballots, and the deadline to register or update your voter information was Monday, October 19. If you miss that date, you can still register and vote in person at a county vote center through Election Day. Visit the SMCCCD Register to Vote site  to register, check your status, and find other voting resources. This year’s San Mateo County ballot includes Measure V, a bond measure placed on the ballot by the San Mateo County Community College District Board of Trustees. To learn what the measure includes and how it would be used, visit smccd.edu/futurefunding. You can return completed ballots at an official ballot drop box at any of the three campuses through 8 p.m. on Election Day. Drop boxes are available at Cañada College in Parking Lot 4, College of San Mateo in Parking Lot A, and Skyline College  in the median by Parking Lot N.

Free Flu Shots Available on Campus

The Cañada College Health Center is excited to announce that flu shots are now available to help all students and staff stay healthy! Drop by the free pop-up flu vaccine clinic every Monday in The Grove from 12-1 p.m. with no appointment necessary. Alternatively, visit the Health Center in Building 5, Room 303 Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Red Cards & Undocumented Community Resources

Wallet-sized “Red Cards” that explain how to safely assert your rights during interactions with immigration enforcement are available for pickup at the Undocumented Community Center. These cards are offered in multiple languages, including Spanish, English, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Chinese, Russian and Portuguese. These can also be printed. Visit the District’s Undocumented Community Resources  or stop by the  Undocumented Community Center (Building 9, Room 118), open Monday – Thursday from 8 a.m.– 4:30 p.m.
