is a fire-dependent landscape where many of our native flora and fauna depend
on fire to rebalance ecological systems. For generations, American Indians have
relied on cultural burning practices to cultivate desired plants, improve human
security, and clear our hearts and pathways. Speaker Ron Goode is an expert in
Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) and will speak about North Fork Mono
cultural history, his recent experiences with burning and the wisdom of
applying traditional culture and ecological approaches to environmental issues.
