THE SPRING 2023 SEMESTER IS FREE AT CAÑADA COLLEGE!

For the Spring Semester, Cañada College will waive enrollment fees for students who reside in San Mateo County (some exceptions apply). There are no minimum or maximum units required to qualify. Depending on documented financial need, students may also be exempted from paying the student body fee, student representation fee, student union fee, inclusive access fee(s), and materials fees associated with enrolled courses. Registration is open to all students! SPRING 2023 REGISTRATION IS OPEN!

Registration is open to all students for the Spring 2023 Semester. You can view the schedule of courses now on WebSchedule and register for courses on WebSMART. The Spring 2023 Semester is free, and Cañada will waive enrollment fees for students who reside in San Mateo County. Some exceptions apply; see our Free College FAQ for more information.

 

DROP-IN REGISTRATION SUPPORT

Get help with registration from our Welcome Center. We are offering “Drop-In Registration” support on Mondays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Come to Building 9 on the first floor or talk to us over Zoom: http://smccd.zoom.us/j/81252409422. Services will not be available during Winter Break (December 16-January 2).

 

PCC OPEN FOR DROP-IN HOURS DURING FINALS WEEK

The Personal Counseling Center (PCC) will be available for Drop-In appointments during Finals Week (December 12-14). Please call in advance if possible to secure a spot: (650) 381-3573 just walk in at Building 5, Room 303.

 

CHANCELLOR FINALISTS- FORUM RECORDINGS & FEEDBACK FORMS

The San Mateo County Community College District has selected its finalists for the District’s chancellor position. The finalist candidates participated in virtual forums, which were recorded and available for viewing. These recordings are posted on the SMCCCD Chancellor Search site along with an online form where you can share your feedback. The deadline to submit feedback forms is Friday, December 9, at 5 pm. 

 

CAMPUS SHUTTLE

The Cañada College shuttle will run direct service Monday-Friday to/from Cañada and East Palo Alto beginning August 17, 2022, through December 16, 2022. Visit canadacollege.edu/shuttle for the latest schedule updates.

Free Groceries at Cañada College – Weekly Food Distribution

11 a.m.- 1 p.m.
Parking Lot 6

In partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank, Cañada College hosts a FREE Grocery Distribution in Lot 6 every Tuesday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The program is open to students and the community to select the food that they want.

Connecting with Our Campus Community: ESL 912 Final Project

9:30-11 a.m.
The Grove

Come make conversation with students and participate in activities as they practice their English listening and speaking skills. Students will host a variety of activity tables including: gratitude letters, games, music, flag share, and more! Activities are centered on community building and well-being. Free drinks and snacks will also be provided.

High School Counselor & Community Partner Forum

The Fourth Annual High School Counselor & Community Partner Forum will provide our community partners with important Cañada College updates as well as workshops on the steps to apply, transfer options, our certificate programs, and our new Dream Center. It will also be a great opportunity to connect with Cañada College staff/faculty/administration and provide feedback on how our college can best connect with the community.

 

Therapy Dogs at the Library

12-1 p.m.
Building 9, Third Floor

Come to the Cañada Library for some much-needed relaxation and canine therapy! We’ve partnered with the Peninsula Humane Society and SPCA to bring dogs just for you. These pups are specially trained to help you relax. You can pet them, talk to them, and help them do their job by showing up stressed and leaving in a great mood!

 

FIFA Video Game Tournament
