Vote Today in the California Special Election

Today, November 4, 2025, is California’s Special Election. Remember to vote and make your voice heard.If you’re not registered, you can register and vote on the same day at polling locations using a provisional ballot. You can also drop off your completed ballot at our Ballot Drop Box in Parking Lot 4. Please visit San Mateo County's Elections site if you are looking for your in-person voting location or additional Ballot Box drop-off locations.

Food & Basic Needs Support at Cañada

In partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank of Silicon Valley, Cañada Sparkpoint offers free food every week. Pick up fresh produce, dairy, grains, meat, shelf items and snacks in the Cañada Market, located in Building 5, Room 222, Tuesdays – Thursdays from 12 – 4 p.m. Cañada SparkPoint also hosts a free public food distribution every Tuesday, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Parking Lot 6. In addition, students can find Study Snacks in baskets located throughout campus in student service areas as well as Grab & Go Sandwiches in Building 9, across from the Welcome Center and in Building 13, in front of Room 236. Plan Your Spring 2026 Classes

The Spring 2026 schedule is now on WebSchedule so that you can map out your next semester. Priority registration opens November 12. Open registration begins November 26. To create or update your Student Education Plan (SEP), book an academic counseling appointment with the Cañada Counseling Center.

Fall 2025 Graduation Application Deadline Has Been Extended through December 15

Great news for students who are planning on graduating this semester – the deadline has been extended to December 15, 2025! Don’t forget to file a petition by December 15. For all degree petitions, it is advised to first meet with an Academic Counselor.

To set up an appointment with an Academic Counselor to discuss a degree petition:

Log in to your OneLogin portal
Choose "Student Success Link"
Go to the “My Appointments” tab
Click on “Schedule an Appointment”
For Appointment type, select the reason for scheduling the counseling appointment
Select the desired counselor, time and date that best fit your availability

To complete a Certificate petition:

Log in to WebSMART
Click on “Student Services”
Click on “Apply to Graduate” under Student Records

Red Cards & Undocumented Community Resources

Wallet-sized “Red Cards” that explain how to safely assert your rights during interactions with immigration enforcement are available for pickup at the Undocumented Community Center. These cards are offered in multiple languages, including Spanish, English, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Chinese, Russian and Portuguese. These can also be printed from home here. Visit the District’s Undocumented Community Resources or stop by the Undocumented Community Center (Building 9, Room 118), open Monday – Thursday from 8 a.m.– 4:30 p.m.

SMCCCD Athletic Center's Fall Showcase

You're invited to a series of special Athletic Center Fall Showcase events on Saturday, November 8, at Cañada College's Athletic Center and Sunday, November 9, at College of San Mateo's Athletic Center . The two-day event highlights the top offerings of our Athletic Centers. All SMCCCD students, faculty, or staff who aren't members can still participate in our special programs or explore at their own leisure. Enjoy light snacks and refreshments!
