November 13

International Ed Week
9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The Grove

International Ed Week will feature Educational Equity tables and classroom displays from the Bahamas, Nigeria, Venezuela, and China with students from each region and facts about education in these countries. Students with a Fall 2018 Cañada Student Body Card can also receive a “flight” or sampling of food from each of these countries and can participate in an international fashion show, language labs, and cultural club tabling.

Hip Hop Hour
12:35- 1:35 p.m.
Building 13, Room 115

Join for the 3rd session of Hip Hop Hour where the group will discuss the impact of Hip Hop culture and music and explore its connection to society and our lives. All students, staff and faculty are welcome.

Please join for a panel discussion with five Cañada College students with roots from Middle Eastern Countries as they share their personal histories. Immediately afterward, follow to the Grove for a performance by the Aswat Ensemble as they play folk music from Iran, Iraq, Jordan and Palestine.

Counselors and staff will be available to answer any of your transfer questions and assist with your applications.


November 16

UC/CSU Application Workshop

9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Building 9, Room 206

Join the Transfer Center, STEM Center and TRIO teams for 15 minutes or the whole duration of the event. Get assistance in submitting the best possible transfer admissions applications.  Professionals available will include: 
  • SJSU Rep: Help with CSU applications
  • English Professors: Help with the UC PIQs
  • Transfer and STEM Counselors: Help with the online portion
  • Financial Aid Rep: Answer financial questions on the applications
