Week of May 1, 2023
Summer Session 2023 Registration is Open!
All students can now register for the Summer Session 2023! And thanks to the passage of Senate Bill 893, Cañada College will continue to waive the enrollment fees for students who reside in San Mateo County (some exceptions apply, see our Free College FAQ) for the Summer Session 2023!
As with this past semester, no minimum or maximum units are required to qualify for this enrollment fee waiver during the Summer Session 2023. If you qualify, it will be automatically applied on WebSMART when registering for your courses. Additionally, depending on documented financial need, students may be exempted from paying the student body fee, student representation fee, student union fee, inclusive access fee(s), and materials fees associated with enrolled courses.
WebSchedule has been updated with the schedule of classes for Summer 2023 and Fall 2023. Take a look and start planning your schedule for the upcoming semesters!
The Fall Semester 2023 priority registration date is on Wednesday, May 3, with open registration for all students open on May 17.
Scholarships for Bay Area Global Internships and Rennes School of Business in France – Apply by May 4
SMCCCD Study Abroad can offer a limited number of study abroad scholarships to students who plan to participate in the SMCCCD Global Internships in the Bay Area this summer. This is a great opportunity for any current SMCCCD students (including international students) to gain professional internship experience in the Bay Area. The program fee of the Global Career Center (GCC) Global Internships Program in San Francisco is $1,675 (without housing). Three scholarships ($1,500 each) are available for this program. The application deadline is Thursday, May 4, 2023. Two scholarships ($2,000 each) are also available for Business students who plan to transfer to the Rennes School of Business in France to pursue a bachelor’s degree. Please email Dr. Alice Yang at yanga@smccd.edu if you are interested in applying for the scholarships.
Please Let Us Know Your Opinion of Cañada’s Participatory Governance Processes
Please take a few minutes (about seven) to complete this survey to provide your perspective on how well the College’s participatory governance Councils, Senates, Committees, program review, budgeting, and related processes are working.
