Celebrating Black History Month

February is Black History Month and Cañada College is hosting events to honor the rich cultural heritage, remarkable achievements and lasting contributions of the Black community. Be sure to check the college calendar regularly, as new events will be added throughout the month. Additionally, Zoom backgrounds are available for download to join in the celebration.
 

New Exhibit at the Cañada Art Gallery: Paul Wonner & Theophilus Brown: A Fifty-Year Perspective

Running Through May 15, 2025

Cañada College presents 18 works by Paul Wonner (1920–2008) and Theophilus Brown (1919–2012), key figures in the Bay Area Figurative Movement. Drawn from the private collection of Matt Gonzalez and Kelly Egan, this exhibition offers an intimate look at the artists' evolution over five decades. SMCCCD Scholarship Applications are open! The deadline to apply is March 3, 2025 at 4:30 p.m.

Who can apply for scholarships? 

  • New/Returning/Current Cañada Students 
  • Undocumented Students 
  • International Students 
  • Incoming Fall 2025 High School Students 

If you are selected as a scholarship recipient, these scholarships will be applicable for the Fall 2025 semester. You must be enrolled in at least six units to receive the scholarship. If you transfer to a university, we will need proof of enrollment. Visit our Scholarships site for more information.
